The month of November started off with an exciting event thrown by my sorority. Due to Covid-19 guidelines, the senior class was thrown a Senior Social on The Collegiate Hotel’s rooftop bar. While there I enjoyed my favorite margarita, wore fun new earrings, and enjoyed a night with friends!
The following week Auburn’s football game was postponed, therefore on Friday night Matthew and I enjoyed a date night at Draft House in downtown Auburn. The next day we joined our friends Jake and Lane for dinner at his apartment and played Cards Against Humanity. The weekend was full of good food and lots of fun!
The next week started off with my 22nd birthday. My birthday was on Tuesday, and my parents drove to Auburn to take Matthew and I to dinner at Acre. We all had the pork tenderloin which was absolutely delicious, and for desert we split the “Matilda Cake”. There weren’t many pictures taken this night as we were enjoying our conversations and didn’t think about it until afterwards!
Later on that same week my roommates and I got together and took pictures to create our own holiday card! In the weeks working up to our “photo shoot”, we ordered matching pjs and decked out our apartment in holiday decorations (I am usually one to wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas, but considering that most of us would only be in Auburn for one week afterwards we decorated early.) My roommate MK even found matching pajamas for Rosie (featured in The Dogs in My Life post), and somehow she didn’t mind us giving her reindeer antlers!
The next day was Auburn Gameday! It was our first and last 6 pm game, and although it was an incredibly fun day it was very tiring. We started off the day at our usual tailgate location of Jake’s apartment and spent the majority of our time watching football, eating, and drinking. In the end Auburn beat Tennessee, and by the time the game was over we were all exhausted and in need of a nap.
The following week I went home to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. On Wednesday my parents and I drove down to our lake house to start setting everything up for my siblings arrival on Thursday.
On Thursday afternoon my brother Hunter joined my parents and I for lunch. We enjoyed beef tenderloin, hash brown casserole, twiced baked potatoes, dressing, green beans, creamed corn, and broccoli.
Later that afternoon the rest of my siblings and their families joined us for dinner. We also celebrated my belated birthday and my nephew helped me blow out the candles on my favorite chocolate cake.
We then spent the next few days together and explored the area around us, while also visiting the local market for an outdoor market, meeting Santa, and a horse drawn carriage ride!
After Thanksgiving, Matthew and I drove to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl. Sadly, Auburn was beaten by Alabama, but we enjoyed the game nevertheless!
